René Salazar is responsible for identifying, negotiating, implementing and managing PayPal's strategic alliances in Mexico to foster brand growth in the country. His focus is on defining strategies and types of alliances to develop the best relationship with business partners. Previously, René was Financial Services Manager for PayPal Hispano-America, responsible for the relationship with banks and financial institutions in the Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America. For two years, he worked in strengthening PayPal’s payment capabilities in the region, as well as monitoring new regulations and trends in the financial sector. With nine years of experience in the payments industry, René worked, prior to PayPal, for more than seven years at Todito, where he started as an Intern and culminated as Director of Operations. In this company, he launched prepaid wallets and debit cards to promote the financial inclusion for the low-income population and the beneficiaries of governmental social support programs. René has an MBA in Global Business Strategy from the Escuela de Graduados en Administración y Dirección de Empresas (EGADE) and the University of North Carolina. He also has a master’s degree in public policy and Public Administration, and a Degree in International Relations from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
